Actually we are in the process of giving our lovely SIME lady a new dress to rise and shine in the coming year. And we thought we should talk a little bit about this new dress that is being exclusively stiched by AD&D (our design partners) together with the SIME team. We have not radicalized anything yet, but hey its all about making those small baby steps isn’t it. And SIME took one such cute step last week on Friday with a new “dynamic” top banner that gives you info on the SIME conferences in an easier way than the previous drop-down listing. It’s pretty neat navigation and can take you deep into the pages without letting you skip the main picture. And the top navigation remains kind of stable for the old school web surfers.

Also,  the second part of the post, is about news from SIME Stockholm. We have revised the format a bit, to let our SIME friends engage a bit more into networking, and also have more focus on certain handpicked themes through workshops. More details below:

Agenda screen shots from http://sime.nu/09/stockholm/conference-agenda/conferenceshedule/ below:

Firstly, the workshops will be held after the conference (tentatively, the conference is scheduled to end around 1500 on both days) with specific focus like communications, social media, voice, telephony, e-commerce trends etc with stalwarts and experts leading these sessions together with the audience. As you can see, we want to make the audience the rock stars together with our speakers and hence a combined effort through workshops not only makes things more focused but also gives the audience the chance to speak up a bit more and get what they need through the 2 days.

Secondly, we plan to have a networking bazaar, a market place kind of setting where you can choose who you want to meet, which sector / industry do you want to be “tagged” in, all well assisted by our “experience manager” and the SIME team. We expect the usual SIME turn out (around 2000 or so) and hence we are talking really massive people-tagging here :)

Third and finally, we have SIME Awards this year with a revised format. We hand pick a long-drawn list of “innovative and interesting” Scandinavian startup’s (no application fee, no nominations etc like last year), drill them down through 2 filters and a jury panel, and finally release a list of nominees (the number to be confirmed), building up to the conference day itself. So all the nominees get to come to the conference and experience the SIME magic!

And of course, SIME is heading to Copenhagen, Helsinki, Beijing (TBC) amongst other things SIME.

What do you think? Are we changing too much, or too little? What more would you want to see out of SIME this year. Shout out, we want to hear you!

    Cheers,
    The SIME team!

    1. Hey Mahesh!

I’d like to see a list of participants – and in some way beeing able to communicate with people who are going there before the event.

Hey Mattias, sure. We plan to get a SIME Google Group started pretty soon that allows all members of the SIME Ecosystem to get in touch with each other ( of course with some moderation from our side) through digest emails. So once that is up (probably this week?), you will be invited to the group, and then you can write to the members about things that you think are relevant. Answers your question?

    2. [...] open to one of the brightest events of the year featuring great speakers and content. This year (as blogged earlier), we have revised the format a little bit to focus more on the networking / meet and greet aspects [...]
