Muxlim (Finland), a global Muslim community interviewed by Tech Crunch UK
Posted by mahesh in Blog SIME Companies | Oct 5, 2009 @ 10:52Muxlim is a great friend of the SIME house. Their CEO and founder Mohamed El-Fatatry was a speaker at SIME Copenhagen last October. And Muxlim has been nominated for the SIME Awards Mighty 36 this year. We found this very interesting interview by Tech Crunch on Muxlim where Mohamed El-Fatatry talks about how he is empowering the whole Muslim community and trying to change the perceptions of Muslims in the global scene.

They seem to have a technology that could potentially make motion detection part of our lifestyles. We wish them all the very best in their journey and looking forward to having them at SIME. Might be cool if they could do a demo of their product at SIME, don’t you think?

ZPS Software files for bankruptcy
Posted by mahesh in SIME News | Oct 1, 2009 @ 16:24It has come to our attention (through ‘vonknut’ in the comments section of the Zero Point Software Rising Star Page which has been removed) that Zero Point Software (ZPS), a Danish gaming development company that was nominated for the SIME Awards, Mighty 36 have filed for bankruptcy. Clearly, a sad moment for all those folks involved.
From all the sources we checked during the month of June (when we began the Awards shortlisting process), there was no sign of any brewing trouble, but of course it was through the online lens and no direct interaction with the company or the people associated with it. But it turns out that the company did file for bankruptcy during early July.
Our apologies for overlooking this till now, but as advised by the chairman of the SIME Awards Jury, Pontus Schultz, we have removed ZPS from the Mighty 36, and will instead nominate another company in the final round to be released during October 14th. That is, instead of releasing 12 companies (as scheduled) in Round 3 of Mighty 36, we would release 13, one more from the big list of nominees that can be found at the Mighty 36 site here to make the cut into the Mighty 36. Thanks ‘vonknut’ for pointing this to us.
