We are happy to welcome the following bloggers to SIME09 on a Blogger Press Pass. We got lots of great applications, and these bloggers are our pick based on a combination of writing, reach and application comments.
And a reminder about what the SIME Blogger Press Pass means:
What do we expect from Blogger Press Pass attendants? Basically - nothing. We hope you participate and make SIME a great conference, and cover topics you find interesting and that fit your blog as you normally would. You will have the opportunity to talk to and interview many of the international top speakers.

This year SIME will again welcome a number of interesting bloggers to attend the event on a Blogger Press Pass!

MIX09, March 18 - 20, 2009 at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, is the technology conference for web professionals where Microsoft previews new technology, hosts sessions with their experts and brings the web development community together to explore the future of the web.

Speakers include Bill Buxton of Microsoft Research, Scott Guthrie of the .NET Developer Division and Dean Hachamovitch of Microsoft Corporation.
If you work with Microsoft products in web development, MIX is the place to be this spring. The agenda also includes sessions on everything from user experience design to web standards and new technologies like Silverlight for creating rich internet applications.
Long time Microsoft champion and SIME friend Jens Gorne recommends registering online before Feb. 13, since it gives you $400 off the ticket price. Time to plan that trip to Las Vegas!

Over at Citizen Media Watch, Lotta Holmström and Gitta Willén keep publishing great articles based on some of the most interesting material from SIME. Check out their interview with Joi Ito on wether we’ll see a dark period for journalism, their article about music, honesty and Youtube featuring Mia Rose and the latest discussion about microblogging, journalism and Facebook status updates.
Based on a question I asked Net Jacobsson of Facebook on stage at SIME08, they pose the question on how we can or should define microblogging, and if Facebook is not only the world’s biggest photo sharing site like Net claimed, but also the world’s biggest microblogging service.
But since Facebook status updates are not accessible outside Facebook, the updates behave less like the political arena that for example twitter has become.
Read on at Citizen Media Watch for two great posts discussing what microblogs mean today and their relationship to journalism.
Take a moment to look through the video material from SIME created by Urban Lifestyle Report. Re-live some of the interesting moments from the stage, or look at new content like the interview below with David Sifry in a cab. All the material can be found here.
We’re just uploaded a new batch of photos from SIME08, by photographer Chris Robertsson. You’ll find them in this set at flickr, and they’re all released under a Creative Commons license. Here are some gems from the set:
