Barbara J. Newhouse

ALS Association President and CEO

Barbara Newhouse has more than 35 years of success in leading strategic initiatives resulting in operational growth and market strength. In June 2014, Ms. Newhouse joined The ALS Association as President and CEO, just two months prior to the start of the Ice Bucket Challenge. This challenge brought unprecedented national and international attention to the disease and $115 million to The Association. Since that time, she has consulted with ALS patient groups, ALS Association Chapters and its national Board of Trustees to develop the most effective strategy to translate this success into supporting the mission of The Association. In 2014, she attended the International Symposium on ALS/MND in Brussels and was elected to the Board of Directors of the International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations, reaffirming The ALS Association as a global leader in the fight against ALS. In 2015, Barbara Newhouse was elected to the National Health Council’s Board of Directors.
