Global Sales Director Spotify

Before joining Spotify, Jonathan Forster spent eight years at digital marketing solutions company Valueclick in a series of management roles where he worked across display media, price comparison, search, adserving and affiliate marketing at a time where many of these business areas were only just beginning to emerge.

Jonathan’s role had particular emphasis on bringing innovative media products to European markets and managing periods of hyper growth in digital businesses, his final role at ValueClick being European Development Director tasking him with extending ValueClick’s geographical footprint.

Since joining Spotify almost three years ago as Global Sales Director, Jonathan has been involved in most facets of the business. His current focus is to develop the advertising offering to brands and agencies alike, and building sales teams across multiple markets to support this effort.

In just over a year since launch, over 6 million registered users of the Spotify service have helped it become an established media owner in the launch markets. Combining the accountability of digital with the reach and engagement opportunities more traditionally expected of broadcast media, Spotify offers brands compelling ways to generate awareness and demand online in an environment which is at once very personal to the user, and very brand friendly.
