It’s my pleasure to introduce the team behind SIME, the folks who are rolling the juggernaut year on year, greasing the engine and making sure the vehicle gets just about better with time. SIME has grown to be one of the most important events in the digital scene, bringing together the top brass from the industry, finding interesting ways to put 1 and 1 together to magically form 3. SIME has always lauded itself to bring together a diverse set of speakers, a 70’s rock star and a internet entrepreneur who created last.FM for instance. Or a 13 year old ( a digital native) and a veteran entrepreneur running a premium dating and match-making service like Match.com, or even business managers from competing media firms, only for each one to chew the other person’s head off, all very well steered by the moderator Ola Ahlvarsson.
SIME 2006 was a cool industry event that marked the re-birth of SIME. 2007 was way too ahead of its time, evident when you check out our edition of SIME Talks and listen to some of the interviews. You realize predictions, and analysis were all but mostly true. 2008 was when the smartest people from all over the world went missing during the 2 SIME Days, and when Obama mysteriously stole the “Change” slogan from SIME (oh well, he used it to do much more good, so we can shake hands on it).
SIME 2009 promises to give you the best of 2 worlds. 1 being the power of networking and meeting people in large scale events, the glamor, the glitz and the oomph factor. 2 being the richness of quality and content of the event, the personalization, the stripped down feeling where ties are loosened up a notch and beer is welcomed when speakers are making their statements. And SIME this year has taken a conscious effort to focus on both as much equally, giving you workshops, networking bazaars, panels and keynotes, together with the glitz, glamor and the oomph that characterizes SIME.
Now, for the introduction of the SIME Crew.
The Base Camp

Ola Ahlvarsson, Chairman
Better known as Mr. SIME. The host, the brand of SIME, the content master, the missing link to the speakers, trend spotter, the master mind behind the SIME theme, workshops, networking bazaar and most importantly catalyst of new opportunities
Christoffer Granfelt, the CEO
The Big Boss, one can safely call him the procurer of everything SIME. Making sure the sponsors are in the house, SIME Academy is working the way it should, SIME International is taking SIME international, finding more partners and more quality. He epitomizes perfection.

Felicio de Costa, COO
the man who keeps the ground stable together with Chris. From managing the guest list, ticketing, to being the sole contact person for the speakers, he runs the show from behind the scenes. SIME experience will never be the same without the man who always has a stress busting smile.
SIME Awards
Jens Ahlvarsson, Mr. SIME Awards
Jens is the man who came up with the idea of Mighty 36, put the idea into an interesting format, did the spade work to find interesting companies and criteria and is running the whole show from the background, from liaising with the companies to fixing workshops and meetings, he is everywhere around SIME. His day job is being the CFO of Result which he co-founded with Ola in 1999.
Urban Petersson, Jury of the Jury, SIME Awards
Urban, one of the founders of SIME back in the days is still associated with SIME, running the Awards show with Jens and the jury. He is the man who coordinates with the jury, brings them together to choose the Mighty 36, and rank them to finally choose the Rising Star of the North. Urban runs his own physcology company called WeMind which councils and helps people get over their depressed state of mind.
The Digital Geeks
Joakim Nystrom, Mr. Web, Mr. Fix-it.
the back end guy, who connects the ideas, design, and the functionalities with a smile. He is the channel builder, works with our design partners AD&D, comes up with new themes and ideas and makes sure the online experience of SIME is as fresh as the event itself. And when something is faulty or down, he is the Mr. Fix-it you want to have on your side.
Mahesh Kumar, Dr. Blog, Digital Channels
Yours truly, I am honored to be part of the great team, contributing in my own small way to build some steam in this great engine. Looking forward for more inspiration and content for the blog and the other digital channels.
The SIME Experience Team
Anna Schneider, the Experience Manager
Anna helps take the SIME Experience to a new level. She is the contact person for all speakers when they are in town, guiding them to the right place to the action nodes, talking to sponsors and making sure their get their slots for demos, pitch sessions etc before and during SIME. She is the catalyst for the SIME Magic.
Mats Larsson, Everything Logistics WYSIWYG, an acronym that is made for this man. He makes sure the logistics at SIME is just about at the right levels, the ambiance music, the lights, the sound system, the screens, the presentation slides, the banners, logos, couches on stage, the audience panel and the list is neverending. He is a man of abundant energy and is quite much the king of making sure the right music goes with the right setting and the mood to give you a feeling of comfort. He runs his own event management company called http://succe.se/

Sara de Costa, Ms. Press
Sara runs the press side of SIME. She brings the old media and new media folks under the umbrella “press” giving both schools equal access to our press partners, coverage and interviews to make sure everyone gets the SIME story, or the SIME side of the story.
Tom Solo, Official Photographer - the legend behind the lens.
Pictures speak a 1000 words got magnified even more thanks to this man’s lens power. Tom is the official photographer for SIME and will be covering this year’s event, the speaker drinks, the party, the gala and awards, everything that reeks of SIME in Stockholm this week. Check out his portfolio at http://www.tomsolo.com
Radon, SIME’s Video Guys
Radon have been great. Without them the archives would have been high and dry. Not only do they make fantastic post-SIME videos, they are just about working at the speed of life to get live interviews, immediately process them and sync them with Ola and Mats to put it on stage. This is how we worked with them last year where they set up a base station of sorts on stage, or just outside, and process footage as and when they come. Fascinating guys, working on a lot of cool things. Check them out at http://houseofradon.com
Andie Nordgren, Geek Girl, Digital SIME’s bouncing board
Andie was last year’s blogger at SIME. She also runs Geek Girl Meet up, working with RJDJ in London and doing a lot of cool things around the tech and media scene. She is our spokesperson, giving out bloggers passes, coming up with backchannel ideas, and broadcasting something interesting and relevant to the SIME team. Andie is just great!
